Itinerary -
Day 01:
Delhi-Corbett National Park Meals: lunch & dinner in Tiger Camp Arrive at Tiger Camp by noon. After lunch, you will be taken for a 4WD safari to Bijrani / Jhirna / Sitabani range forest for tiger tracking and wildlife viewing. The duration of safari is about three to four hours and is conducted early morning or in the afternoon till sunset. Each jeep can seat upto four persons comfortably. Besides the visitors, the jeep has an expert driver and a nature guide. Overnight stay in comfortable cottage in Tiger Camp.
Day 02:
Corbett National Park Meals: breakfast in Tiger Camp, lunch & dinner in Dhikala After breakfast, drive onward for Dhangarhi gate for entry to Dhikala tourism zone. Visit the Interpretation Centre. Jeep safari through the stately dense Sal jungle and the wildlife adventure of Corbett begins. Jeep Safari by the lower jungle track along the Ramganga River accompanied by an expert guide. A great opportunity for viewing wildlife, especially the tiger in its natural habitat. Cross the river at Gethia Rao Bridge for the Kanda Range, where Jim Corbett shot the famous Kanda man-eater. Arrive at the main tourist complex, Dhikala. Lunch and relax a bit in the serene, lingering quietness of the park and capture the panoramic expanse on your camera. Visit one of the best wildlife libraries of India. You will be given an elephant ride, if available otherwise an afternoon safari on a track along the periphery of the core area. An exciting drive through the unforgettable, sylvan beauty of the Khinanauli range offers wildlife viewing in plenty and a chance sighting of the elusive tiger. Return to the to tourist complex. Film show on wildlife. Dinner and overnight stay. Please note that the accommodation in Dhikala is not luxurious.
Day 03:
Corbett National Park Meals: breakfast in Dhikala, lunch on own & dinner in Tiger Camp If you have not done an elephant ride the previous afternoon, you will be taken on an elephant in the morning (optional and subject to availability) through the open chaurs (grasslands) and dense forests by an unconventional route. This is the best mode of transport for wildlife viewing. Return for breakfast and then again drive by jeep to the scenic lake area - wait a while for a chance to sight the marsh crocodile basking in the sun. Visit the Jhirnajhali area for viewing the famous gavial - fish eating crocodile. Lunch and drive back to Tiger Camp. The drive is a safari in itself. Arrive at Tiger Camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 04:
Corbett National Park-Pangot-Delhi/Agra Meals: breakfast in Tiger Camp, lunch in Pangot Drive to Pangot (2 hours) in the morning to see the snow clad peaks of central Himalayas. Spend the day birding / trekking at Pangot or visit Nainital. Lunch at Jungle Lore Birding Lodge. Drive back to Delhi (7½ hours) OR to onward destination OR drive to Lal Kuan (2½ hr.) station to connect overnight train to Mathura at 1900 (railhead for Agra). Or one can connect an overnight train to Delhi from Kathgodam at 2040 hours.

Impressive Insight
Dense stands of sal and mixed deciduous forests welcome your visit to Jim Corbett National Park while the grasslands in the valleys offer visitors a better view of the wildlife. Orchids, tropical creepers and bamboo grow on the hills. The best way to view wildlife is by elephant safari. It is possible to travel deep into the park on elephant back and to get very near to wildlife without frightening them away. It provides shelter to Tigers as well as its prey, which include four kinds of Deer, Wild Boar and some lesser-known animals. The most commonly observed wildlife are langur monkeys, rhesus macaques, wild boars, spotted deer, sambar, peacocks and wild elephants. The park is also a birdwatcher's paradise containing over 580 different species of birds.

Ramnagar : Situated in the rich farm belt of Terai, on the southeastern fringes of the great forests, the busy market town of Ramnagar is the main administrative centre for Corbett National Park and Project Tiger. Ramnagar makes a fishing base camp. At Lohachaur, 15-kms north along the River Kosi, good anglers are in with a chance of landing the legendary Mahseer, a redoubtable battling River Carp
Wildlife Viewing : Chital, Sambar, and various other Deer species find refuge in the Savannah grasslands known as the Maidan, behind the campsite to the south, and Tigers are occasionally drawn in looking for prey. Two hour elephant rides, explore this sea of grass, rarely penetrating far into the deep jungles beyond; try to convince your Mahout or Elephant driver to venture in, as they can be quite magical.

Tourist Information Centres
All visitors to Corbett National Park have to obtain permits from the park administration centre at Ramnagar. The closest of the various gates into the Corbett national park, 1-m from central Ramnagar, is on the road to Bijrani camp, 11-km away, a base for day trips. Dhangarhi Gate, 18-kms along the highway north to Ranikhet, provides access to the northern and north-western portion of the Jim Corbett Park along the Ramnagar River valley, and to the main camp of Dhikala.
History: Jim Corbett National Park
Corbett National Park was established in 1936, as the Hailey National Park. India's first national park and the first sanctuary to come under Project Tiger, Corbett supports a variety of vegetation making it the ideal habitat for the Tiger and its prey.
Once a popular hunting ground of the British, this 201 square mile park was named in honor of the late Jim Corbett, the legendary hunter-naturalist turned author and photographer who most of his years in this area and contributed in setting up the this park. With the help of the World Wildlife Fund, Project Tiger was launched in Corbett National Park in 1973 and this park was one of the first such tiger reserves in the country.
Preferred Time to Visit - Jim Corbett National Park
The best visiting season of Corbett is from November 15 to June 15. Corbett remains closed between June 16 and November 14, when the monsoons flood the river beds and cut the fragile road links.
